1966-67 Green Bay Packers Super Bowl #1 Team Signed Football PSA/DNA LOA
This is clearly one of the finest pieces of signed NFL Football memorabilia that we have ever seen, let alone offered at auction. Lombardi's Packers in the 1960s, was the Dynasty of all sports Dynasties. These were the guys that put the word "nasty" in Dynasty. This magnificent ball has been signed by the legendary coach, Vince Lombardi on the "sweet spot" of this terrific pigskin.
There are 45 more Packer signatures on this "Trophy" ball, including Hall of Famers Bart Starr, Willie Davis, Ray Nitschke, Herb Adderley, Willie Wood, Forrest Gregg, and Henry Jordan. Some of the fan favorites who also signed are, Jerry Kramer, Max McGee, and Elijah Pitts. The ball itself is simply in beautiful condition with no real issues whatsoever. There's a sweet NFL embossed seal, as well as "GREEN BAY PACKERS WORLD CHAMPIONS 1966" stamped into this supple leather football. Led by all-time great and Hall of Famer Bart Starr, the core of this championship team had already won three NFL championships prior to the 1966 season. Lombardi guided his defending champs to a regular season league best record of 12-2. They then faced the Dallas Cowboys at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas on New Years Day 1967, for the NFL Championship, which the Pack won, 34-27.
The Packers still had one more game to play though, as 1967 was the first ever meeting of the NFL vs. AFL in the inaugural SUPERBOWL. The Kansas City Chiefs, champions of the AFL, weren't given much chance by anyone, and everyone was right, as Lombardi's men rolled over the Chiefs 35-10 and became Pro Football's first SUPERBOWL champs. If you've been looking for a marquee piece for your collection, your search is all but over. This phenomenal presentation piece will make you the envy of anyone who walks into your office, den, or man cave, and feast their eyes of this historic ball. Comes with a full LOA from PSA/DNA.
