(LOT 1)
1932 U. S Caramel Complete PSA Registry Graded Set GPA 8.00

PSA HIGH GRADE SET!!! MLI is thrilled to present one of the finest U.S. Caramel "Famous Athletes" sets ever offered to the public at auction. Presented is a 31-card complete set of R328 U.S. Caramel cards. U.S. Caramel cards from 1932 are some of the most difficult of all 1930's gum cards to acquire. The issue's sponsor, United States Caramel, may not have been as omnipresent as their name implies. For that matter, just because it was a "caramel" company it doesn't exclude their producing other confections such as bubble gum. When encountered, R328's are usually found in less than presentable condition. The scarcity of this release is a product of their limited distribution (mainly in the Boston area) and their distinct artwork. The issue's one saving grace is the Hall of Fame caliber line up of baseball's greatest stars, plus a few of the preeminent boxers and golfers of the day.

The 2-1/2" x 3" cards all feature a B&W colorized portrait, perfectly framed with a vibrant deep crimson background and white borders. While the athletes proper names (with their nicknames in parentheses) are printed above in small white lettering. You'd be hard pressed to find a set that POPS like these '32 Caramels. And speaking of POPS, the PSA population report shows that the total number of 1932 U.S. Caramel cards submitted to PSA since their inception back in 1991 is just 1,605. This 1932 U.S. Caramel Complete Set features many highly sought after NM/MT gems like Ruth, Gehrig, Cobb, Foxx, Hornsby, Bobby Jones, Gene Sarazen, Jack Dempsey, & Gene Tunney. As well as Hall of Famers Lefty Grove, Bill Dickey, Mickey Cochrane, Tony Lazzeri, Eddie Collins, Frankie Frisch, Al Simmons, Lefty Gomez and more all in PSA 8 NM-MT holders. This is one incredible set that you'll simply fall in love with, once you make it yours. An opportunity that may not be presented again for quite some time . ?
