LOT: 4 1955 Topps Baseball First Series Unopened Wax Box of 24 Sealed Nickel Packs
DESCRIPTION:
(LOT 4) GEM MINT 10'S!!!... One of the Rarest Unopened Topps Wax Boxes ever offered. This 1955 Topps Baseball Nickel Wax Box houses 24 packs from the First Series of cards 1-160 including some of the following potential cards: Ted Williams, Al Kaline, Ernie Banks, Warren Spahn, Hank Aaron, Jackie Robinson and the SANDY KOUFAX Rookie card as well as many others. The sticker on the box is very deceiving as it says "New Series", which would be assumed as 2nd or 3rd series. However, some of the numbers can be seen through the wrapper and the cards are series 1. Therefore, the "New Series", has the meaning of "Not the 1954 series" but of a "New Series" or New Issue. All 24 packs are still factory sealed and original. All packs contain 6 cards.
The overall condition of them is EX to EX-MT. Each Pack has the gum bleed to the top of the pack. Every single pack/box of 1955 Baseball that is known to exist came from the "Rosen" find in Paris, TN many years ago. Every Pack from that find has the same gum bleed in it.
